Politico Corrupto; Mafia Wars Strategy Guide

Today, a new item was added to Cuba: the "Politico Corrupto". This is a new consumable item that is now required for Cuban jobs. Yes, consumable, and they come pretty slowly. These are produced or bought from the "Bribery Ring" which is a new business (can be found in the business tab).

A fully upgraded bribery ring produces 5 politicos every 3 hours. Additionally, you have the option to buy 10 politicos for 500,000 cuban pesos once per day (this may only be if the business is fully upgraded).

Here are what jobs need politicos:

Bring the Local Teamsters Under Control - El Jefe tier, 1 politico needed

Establish A Loansharking Business - El Patron tier, 3 politicos needed

Set Up A High Volume Smuggling Operation - El Padrino tier, 5 politicos needed

Help An Associate Get A No Bid Contract - El Cacique - 8 politicos needed

Now, all in all this is a lot of politicos. You can collect 50 politicos a day (40 from a fully upgraded business) and 10 bought. You will need over 1000 politicos or so to finish off Cuba, so this new roadblock extends the maximum time it takes to master Cuba a minimum of three weeks.

However, there are plenty of people who stocked up on politico corruptos - if you have a large mafia add them to your wish list and you will get some extras gifted to you. Additionally, people with large stocks of these will trade items for them. Generally, you can get 5-10 politico corruptos for 1 track loader or canonazo; this can really shorten up the collecting process.

  1. I think maybe your calculations are off a bit. Unless i have been dumb and missed this the whole time but it looks like you get less % complete each tier you go up. I am working on Cuba right now and just went to lvl 3 in El Soldado and the first job that costs 10 energy at lvl 2 use to give 3% completion. Now at lvl 3 it gives 2% completion each time that you do it. Maybe i missed that before, but some of those may take more to complete.

In addition what a friggin bummer....my last buisness i was upgrading went from 75k to upgrade output and storage to 300+k....sigh

  2. Yeah I was just guessing, for some reason I remember the %s going up 5-10% per for the high energy jobs, even in Padrino. Maybe they changed it.

  3. When you master any level in Mafia Wars whether NY or Cuba, and go to level 2 or 3, the job completion percentage goes down.... Don't know if you got to the Master Boss level three of Mafia wars, but in tier 3 a lot of the jobs are only 1% job completion.

I was reading earlier that you need closer to 300 to complete Cuba.

  6. I was in the process of upgrading the cocoa plantation and the next jump cost went from 40k to 231.7k when they rolled out the new businesses. Fortunately, for me, I had already fully upgraded product and production. The added expense to fully upgrade all businesses from scratch is pretty significant - especially given the relative scarcity of cash in Cuba.

  7. omg they make it so hard to master cuba now, i should have finish cuba first. So reget right now

  8. Actually the Politicos are not that much of a "road block" at all. I just hope they have not changed the % for each level climb! The Boss tier in NY with a 1% jump in EVERY job for the last tier was excruciating!

  11. I'm nearing the end of cuba, here are the jobs which need politico corruptos and how many

Bring The Local Teamsters Under Your Control:
    (1 Politico Corrupto)
    Level 1 Mastery: 8% (13 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 2 Mastery: 7% (15 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 3 Mastery: 6% (17 Politico Corruptos)

    Establish A Loansharking Business:
    (3 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 1 Mastery: 9% (36 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 2 Mastery: 8% (39 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 3 Mastery: 7% (45 Politico Corruptos)

Set Up A High Volume Smuggling Operation:
    (5 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 1 Mastery: 12% (45 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 2 Mastery: 11% (50 Politico Corruptos)
    Level 3 Mastery: 10% (50 Politico Corruptos)

That's a total of 310 Politico Corruptos to master whole of Cuba!

  12. Anybody see the Jaguar today? 45 attack and 24 defense. It looks really nice. Is the +4 stat still better? Does that basically give every weapon you're using +4 attack or defense?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I was trying to get up to 25 reward points today to buy the Gold MP4 before it was gone, but I'm glad I didn't make it so I could snag the jaguar.

And C$100,000 Coca Field turned into C$350,000. They probably saw how quickly people were rolling through Cuba (which is still in Beta) and felt the need to slow it down.

  19. Multiplier finally caught up with me in El Patron - I did waste a lot of time \ levels getting those Blackmail photos in Boss, though. If I would have used my head I would have blasted off energy and used my health pack to come back to get all the cameras / blackmail photos I needed! (Which is how I finally finished that job after three days of grinding)... I think I could have finished Cuba with a decent exp:energy ratio if I didn't screw up there!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am at level 404, and here are my point investments:

    Attack: 118
    Defense: 223
    Health: 132
    Energy: 2262 Stamina: 23

I was looking at this, and adding up the points I eventually awarded to att\def\health\stamina = 2666 (minus default values). That means I had a potential 5332 before the exp:energy ratio would have caught me (I'm the same poster as just above me) IF I had just stuck to putting all of my points into energy - and I mean ALL OF THEM. I think I will do this with another game, because at where I am (El Patron, first tier) - it just barely passed me. I think the point of all this is to level up quickly, finish the game, AND THEN you can work on building your other attributes. I did pretty well, but I can do better! The next game I will just stick to it all the way through! And this time I won't character build until either level 1000 or whenever the multiplier catches me!

  21. I did entire cuba, all tiers in 3 hours tonight.. however I had not touched cuba since it had been available.. except for fighting..

all fighting I did in cuba for about 130 levels :) using money from fights i put it into the politico business first getting it to produce 10 every 6 hours. Then let them accumulate I started cuba tonight with 300, and right at the end on the last tier ran out.. with 10% left on mastering tier.. looked at business and had 45 seconds to tick.. talk about timing.

I had spent about a week mastering the Boss tier, which is a lot of fluffing about with camera's and blackmail photos.. By focusing on this and letting the politico';s build up it ensured very rapid progress. 2100 jobs done in a day.. my record now.. went from 4 TNTS to 200 too.. :)

  22. damn, i thought *i* did a lot of jobs in a day. i managed about 1866 today.

  24. so with the new "Cacique" tier, we need a TON of Politico Corruptos. Wish I'd been buying them in the past. And with the new level comes new requirements for weapons, etc, and job profit is diminished even worse, so stockpiled cash will go down quickly at $500K a pop for 10 PCs. Zynga is Evil.

    ReplyDelete
  25. To complete the El Cacique tier, you need 600 Politico's. 8 Policitcos/Per Job * 25 Jobs / Job Mastered * 3 Job's Mastered / Tier Mastered. At 5 Politico's/3 Hours = 40 Politico's per Day (assuming you never miss a collection) means it will take at least 15 days to collect the needed Politico's just for the El Cacique tier. Of course this can be reduced a little if you are able to buy the 10 Politico's a day for 500,000 (which will be difficult as that much cash is hard to come by in Cuba) to 12 days.

    ReplyDelete
  26. For cuba, i find that finishing the mastering the three levels first helps, then sells off all the tsuff you don't need for the higher level and do not uy the items for al-cacique until you can afford all of them at one go. But the politico really slows thoings down a lot :(

  27. I started with only getting all the Cuban business to get going fully upgraded, then I got all Cuban guns/cars I needed and by the time I finished NY I had 1300 Political Corrupto and 10'000'000 + in cash, I am now running through Cuba as fast as I have Energy, and Master Boss give me X2 Energy every 2:30min (Apply to Maniac Only), so the math without the Energy packs and level bonus refill, you need 600 and up Energy limit every 24 hour = 576 Energy a 24/day, then add + one limit a day and 1 Energy pack, I am flying through Cuba now.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sorry I forgot the X2 576 Energy a 24/day = 1152

  30. I was working on NY and as soon as Cuba was open for me, I went over and started up the businesses. Then, I would visit a few times per day to sell off stock, but didn't do any fighting or jobs there. By the time I had finished New York, my Cuban businesses were all at their max and I had over 1200 politico corruptos and over $10M in the bank. So, moral of the story - start up your Cuban businesses as soon as Cuba comes open for you even if you don't plan to fight or do jobs over there. It should be pretty easy and quick to complete once you get over there permanently.

  33. I really don't get the math you guys are doing. You need to do the job 100 times for the third mastery, 50 for the second, and 34 for the first. This means that all in all you will have to do the politico corrupto job in el cacique 184 times. And since you need 8 politico corruptos each time you do the job you will need 184*8 = 1472 Politico corruptos... Which will take at least a month. Since you need sleep and stuff, you won't be able to actually collect 40 PCs every day, plus I'm guessing you do more than just play mafia wars and sleep so... (: I hate Zynga for making you need 1472 PCs in el cacique! >.<

  34. I guess I did it the smart way. As I leveled up and Cuba became available I went to it and started buying and upgrading business as I worked on NY, I have done the same thing with Moscow. I have thousands of politico and millions of pesos, and have barely stared to complete any jobs!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Definately! Thats the way to do it, did just the same, i was fighting in Cuba and doin the businesses in Cuba and Moskow as soon as they where available. Now when i started boss tier in NY..... i already owned all of the items needed in cuba and all of the businesses where upgraded.
I finished all of the collections too before i had 1 job done there.

    ReplyDelete
  36. thnx for the tip guys but i would recommend buying bribery ring early in Cuba, like me now.. bought it by mistake at level 47..fully upgraded it and before i even touch cuba .. i already have 400 corruptos
