Mafia Wars Moscow Locked Boss Fight Links; Strategy Guide

Edit: The links now work!

For most players, all Mafia Wars Moscow boss fights are mistakenly locked, effectively blocking these players from advancing to the next level. I had posted up some links a few months ago, but these have since become outdated due to a recent game changes. Thanks to Scott (of egg oddity fame), who tipped me off about this change.

For the highest chance of success, you should be logged into Facebook and be in Moscow. Then, right click on the boss fight that you want and click "open in new window". If you try to copy and paste into a new browser window, for some reason this will not work. Make sure you give the game enough time to load so that the help box will pop up.

  1. Noticed that too but for me it just sends me to the next tier and gives me the mastery item(which is all I really cared about anyways).

    Not sure why it's doing this but thanks for puttin up the links

  3. on a side note: has the upper limit on how many ppl can help on ur moscow job changed? coz i jus received 11 help and 150 xp for gunning ddown some russian muscle job(that is 15 xp more than usual)...i have completed all the cities btw...

  4. I can't seem to make it work for me. I have been looked out of Moscow for 3 weeks now and I have wrote them every day and I still can not play. I have been done with New York and Cuba long ago. Any suggestion on what I can do?

  7. Okay - I changed the links and the way to use them a little bit. Here's the thing: You can't copy and paste the links into a new window. Make sure you right click on the links and then click "open in new window" - that way works for me, but trying to copy and paste the links does not.

  9. Same here, I contacted zynga, but no answer yet. I dont get the mastery item and it seems some tiers I have been repeating over and over...very frustating, makes me want to stop playing because whats the point to play if I dont advance?

  15. the link worked, i posted job on my wall, but people cant help me, it says i already was helped. i did not get the mastery loot....sooo frustating.....

  16. @ Karen - nothing special outside of the normal job mastery rewards (1 high quality loot piece per tier.. boring)

    @ anon - once you request help for a boss, just let it sit there and don't leave that page until someone helps you. It bugs out if you hit the "home" tab or leave mafia wars.

  17. Are these links you ahve posted to do the Boss job early, or simply once you have finished chapter 3?

    I am currently on level 2 of an Episode and chapter 2. And the links do nothing but bring you to the mafia screen and then finishes loading. It doesnt open anything, transfer files, download anything, or any other kind of load up procedures that give you teh idea that the page is loading or getting ready to put up the Boss Job Post.

    So I am wondering if this is just a way to force the post when you have finished chapter 3 adn are ready to do the boss, or if it is for you to unlock the boss fight early..

    I was under the impression that this may be like the Laundering link that forces Mafia to post your Help Launder money post..Not sure if many have noticed, but people dont get the chance to launder money anymore.

    Before if you helped Launder someone elses money you would randomly get the chance to put out your own post to help you Launder money. Now I see fewer adn fewer other then from people like myself that have the link to force Mafia Wars to post my Laundering Helpm of which I do 30 times and day..

    With the lack of otehrs posting them anymore, more and more people help me, mainly due to the fact you can only help 2 people a day. So the fewer people the posting the better.

    A few times I have had over 20 people help and recieved over 170 exp pts.

  18. laundry link only starts occassionally when u do new york jobs. Almost everyone is done with new york so it's logic that there are less laundry posts (except the forced ones)

  21. Same happens to me.
    Episode 1 Boss Fight remains locked.
    Your link worked and I was able to post and call for help on the Dimitri Leonov fight.
    However, only 1 person was able to help me, didn't get any $Rubles, no Xp as well and job remains locked. Also, no Bonus Weapon for completing Episode 1 (BTW, what is the bonus item for completing this episode ??).
    However, i did get the title "Matyoryj Baklan".
    Am i doing something wrong ? Is this the way the whole thing works or is there something else i can do to get more $$ and loot out of this fight ?? Help please !!! --- Thnx !

  22. Also, forgot to mention that eversince i did all the above mentioned, when i am in Moscow and in the Home Page, there is always the message :
    "You can't receive your bonus early unless 10 friends have helped you".
    However, 1 only was able to help and when i ask others to help me using the post i made using your link, they always get the message that they are too late and the job is no longer active.

    WTF !! any hints ?? Let me know

  23. It's just the way the fix works - you won't get much XP or money out of it.

    It's not worth that much though anyway. This is for people who have their fight locked for some reason and can't get to the next stage of Moscow.

  26. So I was able to post the boss fight for episode one and after one person helped I posted a request for more help and it said you were too late for anyone else that tried to help. It said I needed 10 friends to help, but only allowed one. Any ideas?

  31. Hey, much thanks for the links to the Moscow bosses. I'm amazed at how bad Zynga competency has gotten lately. Maybe some of the posters here should send in their applications for a job. It seems many of them understand and can run MW better than some of those monkey's there now.

  32. I am not having an issue with unlocking the boss jobs. My problem is it will not let me advance, after I post the boss job. So I can not access the second or third tiers on any level. Keep getting the cant get the bonus until 10 friends help. Frustrating beyond belief that I cant fully master any tier.

  34. The problem for me is that:
    -I am gaining no stat points
    -Not getting the title for Moscow
    -The bar not showing job advance percentage
    -"Get help" button doesn't work, so I have to spend energy on it...


    The fix for me for the boss fight was just waiting for a bit. But I "killed the boss", the page had shown me as mastered the whole job tier WITHOUT the mastery item and the titles...

    Oh right...I'm using Chrome and the links just lead me to a blank page

  37. Anybody else have to do Moscow Episode 6 more than once. Just finished Chapter 3 Clicked the Finish off the Boss and it went back to chapter 1 AGAIN!! Any suggestions?? Tried the link above and got the blank page deal too by the way. thanks

  38. I also just finished level 2 mastery for Episode 6 and it took me back in the beginning of level 2!
    Moreover, the Boss fight links above stopped working. Getting a blank page only.

  47. l'm having the same problems, all my boss fights in Moscow are locked now, tried all the links above in firefox and IE but nothing works, can't do a thing.

    Basically l've maxed out all my jobs and l'm just waiting to fight a boss and do more jobs but its not happening. I'm working on my achievements at the moment. Nothing else to do.

  49. HELP with the locked boss fights in level 6! Right-clicking does nothing....they locked boxes are pictures and a new window just re-loads Mafia Wars. This is true for levels 5 and 6 for me.....any help? johnb@wt.net

  51. iv mastered all the tiers and got nothing for it although the second choice jobs for all tiers are on level 3 mastery 0% but are locked what do i do lol

  52. I have tried to use the Moscow Boss Fights links above, but they all open up in blank pages with just the MW bar of games at the top (??)

    All my Boss fights are locked (Episodes 1 - 5) - I am still currently completing Epi 6.

    Any advice? Is anyone else having this prob?

  53. Is this ever going to get fixed??? I can not finish Episode 5 or 6 final boss jobs for 3 months now!!!..(already said I mastered them even though I do not have enough weapons to do the job) I've had to do Episode 1 twice because once I finished, it started me back to chapter 1...I don't think I'll ever officially finish Moscow..moving on to Bangkok!

  55. This doesn't work for me either. I have tried the advice that was given previously with opening it in a new window. Still nothing. Just a blank mafia wars screen.
    Also have the problem that when I buy the items needed for last job before the boss fight it completes the job and I don't get to do boss fight.

  59. I would like to "complete" all missions, but it doesn't work. The "complete" button is for whatever reason blocked. I changed the browser from Firefox to IE, but nothing happened. Anything I can do? Any idea? HELP!

  61. I have completed all jobs in episodes 1-6 that I can. One job in each episode is locked. How do I unlock the last job in each episode. Right clicking to open new window does NOT work, nor do the above links. These are not boss fights, they are jobs.
