Fight Club, Victory Coins, and New Achievements

It looks like there is some new features headed this way in Mafia Wars. In the marketplace, you can see a new tab called Fight Club, and a page with several very nice pieces of equipment which are not yet purchasable:

Thanks Kin for pointing this out to me!

It looks like pieces are purchasable with "Victory Coins", which can will be earned through winning fights. I am assuming (and hoping) that this is not simply the result of winning 25 fights - if that is the case, it won't take very long for people to max out on these loot pieces. Perhaps there will be a grid, just like with robbing, and if players clear it with a winning record, they will get a victory coin. That's just a guess though, we'll have to wait and see.

Also, these items require a certain amount of people in your "Top Mafia". As of right now, we know that this is not possible, so that and these achievements below mean that another new feature is on the way:

As far as I can tell, you will be able to fill up your top mafia slots for based on four ranks - Capo, Lieutenant, Enforcer, and Street Crew. I'm not sure what bonuses will be available for these new ranks, but it appears to be a feature that will allow you to interact with more mafia members more frequently. Will update whenever this stuff goes in game!

  12. have anyone of you seen the new Weapon Shop? Exactly like Chop shop except that it produce Weapons. You get parts, and then build your weapons, and your weapon Shop produce Weapon Parts every 24 hours, and can be upgraded to Level 10 currently.

I am thinking soon there will be Armor Shop as well.

  13. i just got the Weapon Shop this evening. I also am betting on a Armor Shop later on..

  14. armor shop would be the next logical step. unfortunately it seems asking for help on 1 of them puts the ask for help of the other on cooldown

  15. weapons depot is 4of each for level 1
    6 for level 2
    8 for level 3.
I have upgraded this far and have no more parts to keep going

  17. why do they call it Marketplace where you can't sell your un-use equipment for something else? It should be a buy and sell concept right?

Imagine selling 10 Carbon blade for a Mugati? or sell loot items for a profit, say a few hundred grand......something like that.....

  18. weapons depot:
really. they don't have any sense of self-control. too much stuff released one after the other. just when you come up with a strategy to play, you have to revise it. so many "new" high-end items becoming obsolete within weeks.

    marketplace:
they don't want you to sell or trade the loot items. the sole purpose of the marketplace is for zynga to sell you godfather reward points from cash. each time they let you buy stuff by trading loot items, they dilute the value of these items and effectively dilute the real cash value of the reward points. they try to give you only a small number of free reward points just to whet your appetite and keep your attention on them.

haha the second rule is we do not talk about fight clubb!!!!

  23. Like others have said, my guess is that Fight Club will basically be using the same basic concept and software code that they used for Robbing and tweaking it very slightly. Same tic-tac toe board, clear the grid, get more targets.

However my guess from the stats of the items is that you have to clear the board with a 9-0 record and that there will still be some random factor as to the winner.

It is all just conjecture at this point, but I will be interested to see what they came up with.

And damn, I want those items!

  24. To the person who conjectured that, after introducing a chop shop, and a weapons depot, we will probably see the introduction of an armour shop too: now that animals are available, do you think we will be given a pet shop too? :)
