Mafia Wars Las Vegas Casino

In this post, I will try to get together all of the information for the Mafia Wars Las Vegas Casino. There are a lot of parts to the casino, so this post will be continually updated as I get more information. Any contributions via comments or e-mail are most welcome!

About the Casino

In Mafia Wars Las Vegas, players are able to build their own casino. Essentially, the player's Casino replaces properties/businesses for Mafia Wars Las Vegas entirely. The Casino is actually a mix of several different properties:

Slots
Table Games
Restaurant
Poker Room
Hotel
Vault

Each one of these properties is upgradeable much in the way the Chop Shop and Weapons Depot are, however, they only seem to produce $V.

Upgrades

Your Casino's individual properties are ranked on a star system, just like Casinos are in real life. Each property you build starts out with .5 stars (level 1), and each time you upgrade it, it raises by .5 stars. Your overall Casino's ranking is based off an average of the ranking of all your individual properties.

The max is currently for the entire casino and individual properties is 5 stars, which is equivalent to level 10. Each time you upgrade your property, it produces more $V and it occasionally it will a different graphic. Will have an example of this shortly.

Each property within your Casino needs pieces to be upgraded with special items just like the Chop Shop and Weapons Depot. Each Casino part seems to follow this pattern:

Specialty Item: 2 + Current Level * 2 (4 for the first upgrade, 6 for the second upgrade, and so on). This includes things like the Poker Tables or Chefs and also one item from the list below.

Cinder Block, Steel Girder, Concrete, Construction Tool: 1 + Current Level (2 for the first upgrade, 3 for the third upgrade, and so on). Note that each property requires extra of a certain item on the list. For example, the Restaurant requires extra Steel Girders, while the Table Games property requires extra Cinder Blocks.

Essentially, each building has its own specialty item (like Poker Tables for the Poker Room) which drop from specific jobs (listed under each property down below) along with the same other 4 materials listed above.

Cinder Blocks, Steel Girder, Concrete, and Construction Tools drop randomly from jobs (not sure if they are dropping outside of Vegas yet). You can also "ask for more" parts once every 24 hours just like with the Chop Shop or Weapons Depot.

Below I will cover each individual piece of the Casino.

Slots

The Slots property is unlocked by mastering the "Steal a Truckload of Slots" job in District 1 of Mafia Wars Las Vegas. You only have to master it in the Bronze tier to have access to the property. Once you have access to it, you can build it for free, and it starts out as a .5 star property.

To upgrade the slots, you will need the Slot Machine item, which drops from the "Steal a Truckload of Slots" job in District 1. Here are the Slot levels and payouts:

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Produces V$600 every 4 hours.
1 Star (Level 2) - Produces V$700 every 4 hours.
1.5 Stars (Level 3) - Produces V$800 every 4 hours

Table Games

The Table Games property is unlocked by mastering the "Recruit a Table Game Dealer" job in District 2 of Mafia Wars Las Vegas.

This property requires the "Casino Dealer" to upgrade. This item is supposed to drop from the "Recruit a Table Game Dealer" job, but I have not yet had it drop for me for some reason (bug I believe).

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Produces V$2,800 every 8 hours.
1 Star (Level 2) - Produces $V3,600 every 8 hours.
1.5 Stars (Level 3) - Produces $V4,400 every 8 hours.

Restaurant

The Restaurant is unlocked by completing the "Convince A Restaurateur To Leave Town" job in District 3.

The same "Convince A Restaurateur To Leave Town" job also drops the "Chef" needed to upgrade the Restaurant.

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Produces $V7,500 every 12 hours.

1 Star (Level 2) - Produces $V10,000 every 12 hours.

1.5 Stars (Level 3) - Produces $V12,500 every 12 hours.

2 Stars (level 4) - Produces $V15,000 every 12 hours.

2.5 Stars (level 5) - Produces $V27,500 every 12 hours.

3 Stars (level 6) - Produces $V32,500 every 12 hours.

Poker Room

The Poker Room is unlocked by completing "Hijack a Poker Table Delivery" in District 4.

This job also drops Poker Tables, which are needed to upgrade your Poker Room.

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Produces V$ 17,500 every 24 hours
1 Star (Level 2) - Produces V$ 25,000 every 24 hours

Hotel

The Hotel is unlocked by completing the "" job in District 5.

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Produces V$ 40,000 every 48 hours
1 Star (Level 2) - Produces V$ 55,000 every 48 hours

Vault

The Vault is a completely different property. At the Vault, you can store your $V, much like the bank. However, the Vault is different in that it has a limit (default is only $V100,000, which is very easy to get).

You can upgrade the Vault by collecting the following pieces:

Security Camera
Reinforced Steel
Deposit Box
Motion Sensor
Magnetic Lock

These items drop randomly from jobs and you may have some already from an old event. Level 1 requires 3 of each item and the cost goes up 1 item every half star upgraded (1 Star to 1.5 Stars requires 4 of each item, 1.5 Stars to 2 Stars requires 5 of each item, and so on).

In addition to holding your money, your Vault can convert your worthless New York dollars into valuable $V. Before you get too excited, note that this feature can only be used every 24 hours.

As you upgrade your site, the capacity of your Vault to convert and store $V increases. Here are the levels:

.5 Stars (Level 1) - Holds V$100,000 and converts $500,000 into V$1,000.

1 Star (Level 2) - Holds V$200,000 and converts $1,000,000 into V$2,000.

1.5 Star (Level 3) - Holds V$400,000 and converts $1,000,000 into V$2,000 and B$10,000 into V$2,000.

2 Star (level 4) - Holds V$800,000 and converts $1,000,000 into V$2,000, B$10,000 into V$2,000, and C$50,000 into V$2,000.

2.5 Star (level 5) - Holds V$1,500,000 and converts $2,000,000 into V$4,000, B$10,000 into V$2,000, and C$50,000 into V$2,000.

3 Star (Level 6) Holds V$3,000,000 and converts $2,000,000 into V$4,000, B$10,000 into V$2,000, C$50,000 into V$2,000, and $R50,000,000 into $V4,000.

3.5 Star (Level 7) - Holds V$5,000,000 and converts $4,000,000 into V$8,000, B$10,000 into V$2,000, C$50,000 into V$2,000, and R$50,000,000 into V$4,000.

4 Star (Level 8) - Holds V$10,000,000 and converts $8,000,000 into V$16,000, B$10,000 into V$5,000, C$250,000 into V$10,000, and R$50,000,000 into V$4,000.

4.5 Star (Level 9) - Holds V$20,000,000 and converts $12,000,000 into V$20,000, B$10,000 into V$2,000, C$250,000 into V$10,000, and R$200,000,000 into V$20,000.

5 Star (Level 10 ) - Holds V$50,000,000 and converts $24,000,000 into V$40,000, B$200,000 into V$40,000, C$1,000,000 into V$40,000, and R$400,000,000 into V$40,000.

Thanks Sachiko Yakusa for the info!

At any rate, the list is definitely still very much under construction. Feel free to contribute any information you might get! I am currently now unable to play due to the lag since I'm sure a lot more people than normal are online and messing around either in Vegas or trying to get into Vegas!

  1. Is the game down or just my server?

  2. What is the difference between the energy path and the fight path?

    ReplyDelete
  3. 1 star vault can convert $1M into V$2000. (There's a drop-down menu to select the larger amount.)

    ReplyDelete
  4. there's no difference because you'll have to do both energy and fight path if you want to go up in mastery...

    ReplyDelete
  5. And in the later district you have to do all 3 paths. energy, fighter, and social
If you have an energy account with less then 501 mafia and really good equipment you are stuck, since most of the fight path fights are 501 mafia.
And as for the tournments I have tried to so far and lost both. It combines your attack and defense points. not sure how the actually win is figured though. might be 501 weapons for both attack and defense???
my stats are just under 99,000 atack 2000 and 90,000 defense 1500

  6. Do Vault consumables (motion detectors, security cams, etc.)drop from jobs in all cities or just Vegas?

  7. i had gotten some in Bangkok before Vegas opened. not sure about now that it is open(beta)

  8. 2 star vault lets you deposit up to V$800,000
    Convert
    NY 500,000 = V$1000
    NY 1,000,000 = V$2000
    Cuba 50,000 = V$2000
    Bangkok 10,000 = V$2000

  9. um yea, no laundering fee for depositing money into the vault

  10. The fight path seems to reduce opponents Mafia size to match your own....

  11. later on bosses have 5000 on bronze lvl, they get pretty tough!

your blog is great. good job!

  14. One slight twist on the property upgrades. Each property except the Slots has one of the items which is a "double whammy", that is it takes twice as many as the "normal" amount for the upgrade. So instead of 2 of the item to go from .5 to 1 star, it takes 4. The properties and their corresponding double items are:

    Table games: Cinder Block
    Restaurant: Steel Girder
    Poker Room: Concrete
    Hotel: Construction Tool

Not sure why they did this except to slow down the upgrades slightly.

  15. Always use Stun Gun on boss before attacking him! the rest of equipment are pretty much useless shiv and grenade barely affects him (around 20-30 damage), this way your attacks harm him, but he cannot counter attack you. This way I won EASILY all my Boss fights :)

  16. The boss on district 3 level 4 had a total hits point of 25,000. I had to lose about 6 times to finally beat her. The hardest problem is that if you run away she gets all of her points back. But if you lose she only gets about 10% back.

I'm finished district 1-5 and all 4 levels, it's weird that they have absolutely no weapons that are worth anything, except for the ones you win from the bosses.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fight path fight results suggest that opponents number of mafia is reduced to match your number, however it doesn't look like it is working. I have 351 mafia and some opponents when they get reduced to 351 members still have 90k defense. Probably they intended to make the fights fair, but managed to screw it up, as always.

  18. Zynga's sending a pretty clear message with the structure of Las Vegas. Fighting/stamina accounts are going to do very well here. Balanced "workhorse" accounts will do just fine. High-level, weak energy accounts will go nowhere. Energy accounts will sail through Level 1 mastery of the job tiers, but making everyone complete all job paths before advancing to the next level of mastery will slow many player's advancement, if not make it outright impossible. What is the point of choosing a path if you have to complete all of them to advance anyway?

In addition to this, all of the loot drops (except for the boss fight loot) is junk, with the possible exception of the bark scorpion, although its attack value isn't even best-in-slot. None of the vegas loot (again, except for boss fight loot) seems to be worth much. Once you get the five boss fight items, and the forced fight-social-energy path makes advancing too difficult, what else is left?

Pretty sad to be out of options after about two hours of gameplay. Guess I'll go back to Bangkok and keep farming Xiamen tigers.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think the message is clear at all that fighting accts will do well in vegas. It still seems energy accounts are best as most of the jobs require energy. 1000 stamina is plenty to power through the fighting paths, simply waiting on a weak enemy to be randomly selected. On the other hand, 2000 energy isn't enough to finish content at all.

My energy acct easily mastered the first districtall 4 times in about an hour or two... would have been faster if I wasn't doing a write up as I was working through it.

  20. From District 5

    Range Finder Rifle
    37 Attack 54 Defense

    From District 4 (i think)

    Mojave Mike
    40 Attack 53 Defense

  21. First is a weapon, second is a car; and episode 6 is not even available yet. It will have good stuff for sure.

Has anyone been able to kill District 5 lvl 4 boss?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Zynga just changed the fighting path; now you have a choice of three players to fight. Makes it that much more likely you'll end up with an obviously weaker player and an easier fight. Thank goodness - I'm nowhere near 501 members and was getting annoyed at having to refresh so often to get a fair fight :P

    ReplyDelete
  23. Also, I am not sure if it is in effect yet - Zynga stated on the Vegas Beta Testing board that losing a fight will still give mastery, but not as much as a win. This way an energy is not stuck for mastery, but slowed way down.

Finally a city that helps fighters/balanced accounts!

    ReplyDelete
  24. yes i can confirm the above post, just fought and lost but still gained mastery, probably half of what a win would give

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've got a "Dead Man's Hand" by collecting chips from my Casino. But I have no idea what it is. It's not on my loot page. Looks like a deck of cards.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Let's also remember that most of the folks who get into the beta are daily players. I know I'm going to lose a lot of the fighting stuff. Even the Flyweight Tournament despite having 375 mafia and an average piece value of over 46 and ATT/DEF both over 500.

When the beta is over and the rest of the regular players come in, I expect the fighting to get substantially easier. Right now Vegas is full of sharks.

    ReplyDelete
  27. to the anon above, the flyweight tournament is limited to 10 of your defense points and i belive 10 members and their 10 best of every gear, as each division gives more and more members and gear to use, with heavyweight being the division using 501 mafia all your gear and skill points.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Energy accounts are still better for doing jobs - if you don't have enough stamina, just go level in Bangkok, buy yourself some faction items, then come back and use your stamina in Vegas.

Energy accounts SUCK for the new tournaments in Vegas though.

As a side note, a bug in heading in Vegas - I accidentally went to the hospital while still in Vegas, and even though it was supposed to cost me more money than I had to heal, it healed me anyway and took my $V balance down to zero - ouch.

    ReplyDelete
  29. new post from MW saying something about the fight the fed bosses(the feds are watching fight banner), 4 in total and apparently will need help from your friends in order to win, says beat all four and get an awesome vegas item that is supposed to help your cash flow

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also, for those of you having trouble with the bosses, I noticed I'd use the stun gun, but then do 0 damage. But if I used the grenade, and THEN the stun gun, I did significant damage. So start the fight with a grenade.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anyone having problems with District 3? I did the bronze tier, then finished all 3 paths in the silver tier, including the boss and then...nothing.

It looks like the old glitched levels in the other cities where I'm locked out with no hope of progressing.

    Anyone seen this yet?

    ReplyDelete
  32. to add to my previous post at 2 1/2 star vault you can convert NY$2,000,000 = V$4000

  40. I am quite disappointed in Las Vegas…

I finished districts 1, 2, 3 and I am at gold level in districts 4 and 5 in about 7 hours and with only around 125 reward Points used mainly for stamina required for ruby level district 3 Fight path.

V$ seems to be no problem… I bought all the loot required for ruby mastery in district 4… Have about a mil in the vault and I can see I need V$8,401,200 for loot required ruby mastery in district 5…

The properties are pretty easy to Level up… I am done with most of them except:
Vault I am at level 4 and Table Games… Casino Dealer does not drop for me.

I guess we will have to redirect our efforts to Tournaments and Achievements

As for the people who are asking about boss fights, you can ask your Mafia to help you.
I only encounter a problem in district 3 both at the Gold and Ruby Boss Fights, my Mafia actually killed them for me  (I had no problem with gold level Boss Fights in Districts 4 and 5).

PS. The counter for the Hot Shots achievement does not work yet... It is “coming soon”

    My Stats:

    Level:1158
    Energy: 5835
    Stamina: 870
    Health: 162
    Attack: 800
    Defense: 560

Mafia defense strength at 501: 91990

  41. I'm sorry to break this to you, but spending 125 RP and not even finishing th whole city is pretty suboptimal.

  44. NY$12,000,0000 = V$20,000 conversion on a Level 4.5 vault?
If they really stop the upgrade at Level 5, this is very disappointing.

  45. Level 5 Vault has $50,000,000 capacity. The exchange rate is 600:1 whereas earlier it was 500:1
    NY$24,000,000 = V$40,000
    B$200,000 = V$40,000
    C$1,000,000 = V$40,000
    R$400,000,000 = V$40,000

    ReplyDelete
  60. OK, did some math based on the assumptions above...

For the vault, you need 63 each of the security cameras, reinforced steel, deposit boxes, motion sensors and magnetic locks, for 315 parts in total. For the casino, you need 126 each of the specialty items (slot machines, casino dealers, chefs, poker tables, and bellhops) and 378 each of the cinder blocks, steel girders, concrete and construction tools, for 2,142 parts total. That's a grand total of 2,457 parts!

I don't know about anyone else, but even with over 1,200 mafia members, I'm averaging less than one LV item request fulfilled per day. If not for the times I luckily loot one of these parts, it'd take me years to complete my casino (it still might). The recent change to the FB wall (application posts no longer being grouped together) has completely hidden most of my MW requests. It's seriously making me think it's time to just give up with so few dedicated players left to help with requests.

  61. Why is my Vegas Casino named a weird name? It is not my mafia name there. I never picked that name and it does not belong to any mafia member in my family. In the left upper corner of the "My Casino" shows a strangers name. Why is that and how do I change it?

    ReplyDelete
  62. For anyone complaining about needing to get parts for the various buildings ... STOP COMPLETING LEVELS. It's obviously way easier to get, for example, 20 cinder blocks when you only use 10 energy to complete a task than when it takes 100 energy. Take your time ... Vegas ain't going anywhere!
