X-Men First Class Loot Drop Event

The newest tie-in for Mafia Wars is with X-Men First Class, the latest installment of the X-Men series due in theatres June 3rd.  Click "Play Now" and it gets you this:

As you can see, 4 items drop from jobs and 3 items drop from fights.  The stats aren't the greatest on any of the 7 collectable items, but the Mastery item is great and there are 4 levels to mastery.

Once you collect one of each of them items, you can collect the Mastery item, Magneto's Helmet.

Don't forget to collect on this item for the 4 levels of mastery.  There is a limit of 10 per item to be store in your inventory, so once you are maxed out on mastery, gift them to your friends or trade them.

Bronze Mastery - 70 attack/110 defense
Silver Mastery - 75/120
Gold Mastery - 80/130
Ruby Mastery - 85/140

There are also 2 boosts to help you with looting items:

Supposedly helps you get triple the items, but no indication during gameplay that a boost is active.  I did lower energy jobs in NyC and did my fighting in Brazil and I completed a collection after 19 jobs and 36 fights.  Not too bad, but I suspect the drop rates will be adjusted.

A nice little tool they attached to this event is in your Mission Bar on the right side.  Look for the "X" logo and click on it.  Will give you your current inventory of the 7 items.

Good luck everybody and Go See X-Men: First Class!!

Kassina Kunoichi Boss Fight WalkThrough

The 2nd in this series of Boss Fights is rolling out to everybody.  It goes along the same guidelines of the Roughhouse Rafael fights.  Nothing is used but the 4 consumables.  Health is taken from you, but no Stamina used or Experience given.

Kassina's Caracal is the tiered reward for this fight.  Even if you can't complete all three levels, I suggest you at least get your hands on the Bronze level mastery reward as the 95/126 score on it will put it near the top of everyone's arsenal for attack and defense.

The look of the fight page on Kassina Kunoichi is the same as the last Boss Event.  The combos are different this time and as of the initial release, there doesn't appear to be an achievement attached to it.

Each consumable has a daily limit that can be collected.  For the Crack of the Bat, Knife Slash, and Knuckles punch consumables, you can collect a maximum of 50 each day.  For the Shotgun Blast, you can only collect 40 each day.  You can also collect Shotgun Blasts from your friends posts about the event.  Those also do the most damage and a lot of players have completed these fights with Shotgun Blasts alone.  Good luck and happy Killing!!

Put 'Em On Ice Fighting Event

The newest event should make the fighters among us happy.  Rack up the ices and rack up the good loot.  This is actually a great event because fighters will get rewarded for what they already do - Icing other players.  For the top reward though you need 1000 ices in 11 days though, so it may take more fighting than usual.

For those of you who don't know what icing is, it's when you attack your living opponent until they are below 20 health.  Keep in mind that other players may be attacking at the same time, so if all of a sudden your "Attack Again" button goes away and you don't get a popup, someone else "stole" your ice.  It happens all the time, so just move on and don't worry about it.  The ice screen has changed for this event, no telling if it's permanent.

Notice the counter on the bottom towards the next level.  Bronze is 10 ices, Silver - 30 ices, Gold - 100 ices and Ruby -200.  The loot is pretty good on bronze level and only gets better working towards ruby.

After you hit each level, you will be able to collect the new reward from your home screen.  Don't worry about blowing past a level up, the ices carry over to the next level.  The reward for 1000 ices isn't as good as I thought it would be, but it's very strong nonetheless:

Happy icing and good luck all!!

Smoke and Mirrors Mission Walkthrough

Latest mission from Mafia Wars has 8 parts and is quite time-consuming, so get started right away.

Part 1:

Easy part to start: Fight 22 opponents in Brazil (once again, fighting same player 22 times is o.k.), Clear 2 Robbing Boards and Build 2 Vehicles in NyC (18 hour timer).  Pretty weak loot compared to most of the stuff they hand out with missions.

Part 2:

Get 6 supports from your mafia:  With the sending limit lifted, just go down your list and select as many people as you can, then repeat until you are finished with this part or the mission.  The Angry cult members are 8 Stamina each on the fight list and the "Burn down a jungle hideout" job is 243 energy plus a gas can on Ruby level.  Again, very poor loot.

Part 3:

Job takes 243 energy (no consumables this time), win 15 fights in Brazil and loot the luggage bags from fighting (took me 106 fights).  Cool looking loot, but won't fit in most arsenals.

Part 4:

Get 8 Brazil Crew members this time (make sure you have 8 slots available to fill in Brazil - if not, assign some to positions).  Turn on the Lockpick position in Brazil to get double loot and find 12 Documents from the 81 energy job.  No loot this time.

Part 5:

Buy 1 item from the Black Market in Brazil (23 hour timer).  Rob 20 times in Brazil while looting 10 Manila Envelopes (actually took me 5 complete boards to get them).  Job is 135 energy and no consumable requirement.  Decent reward with 2 Harpoon GTS' and 7 Fume Proof Masks.

Part 6:

Get 8 more supports from your mafia (repeat what you did the first time) and ice 3 opponents in Brazil.  Should be a quick one.  No loot, but good experience and on to lucky number 7!

Part 7:

If you have read my previous mission posts, you know what to do with this one.  Find a Headquarters in your robbing page, click the profile and rob it as many times as you can until you hit 16.  Dynamite started dropping from robbing again (Moscow coming back again maybe??).  Job requires 594 energy on Ruby.  No loot again, but almost done :)

Part 8:

Build 2 Weapons in NyC (18 hour timer).  The Cult Leaders require 10 Stamina on the fight list.   Job requires 729 energy and a Satchel Charge on Ruby.  Declare a war (8 hour timer).  Great reward with the Great Blue Heron:

Good luck everybody!!!

Roughhouse Rafael Boss Fight Walkthrough

This is a very interesting approach by Zynga on the new Boss Fights they have been advertising and pushing.  Each fight requires nothing but consumables.  You can't use Stamina to fight the boss and your account strength seemingly has nothing to do with how much damage you cause.  I recommend asking for Shotgun Blasts as often as possible from your mafia as they do the most damage.  You can even click on your own post for help and receive 2 of them.  Many mafia members have reported beating all three tiers using Shotgun Blasts alone.

Each consumable does a different amount of damage and there are 3 combos you need to use while fighting the Boss to get the Rafael achievement.  See the previous post on Roughhouse Rafael Mission Walkthrough for info about unlocking the 3rd combo.  Here are the 3 combos you need to perform:

If you do the 3rd one before finishing the 2nd step of the related mission, YOU WILL NOT GET CREDIT!  If you perform all three combos before defeating the boss and have the 3rd unlocked from the mission, you will get the new Achievement:

The Health levels for the bosses are 15,000 for Bronze, 25,000 for Silver and 35,000 for Gold Mastery.  Pretty good loot for finishing.

Have fun and Happy Hunting!!!

Roughhouse Rafael Mission Walkthrough Combo Unlock

Sorry for the delay on this, but Blogger has been updating and upgrading.  The newest mission is tied in with the Roughhouse Rafael Boss fight.  This mission only has 4 parts to it, but some of them are extremely time consuming.  Hopefully we can get you through them a little quicker.

Part 1:

25 jobs in the NyC Hitman tier (36 energy each).  Rob 10 restaurants - can do this by clearing boards or finding one on the board, clicking the profile and robbing the same one 10 times.  Build 1 armor (18 hour timer).  Best reward you will get for this mission.

Part 2:

These are tough to get.  Keep in mind that you have a daily limit of 50 of each of these, so if you have already gotten a bunch for the day, I recommend waiting until it resets at midnight local time to start in on these.  Lower levels seem to pick up the Cracks of the Bat easier than high levels.  The knife slashes, I recommend going to brazil and doing a low energy job and turning on the Lockpick bonus so you get double the loot.  Some players who got a late start on this mission have claimed that the requirements dropped to 5 and 5 rather than 12 and 15.  The reward for this is the Boss Fight Combo.  Without this, you will not get the Roughhouse Rafael achievement.  (See the Boss Fight combos for more info).

Part 3:

You can get the Canister Bombs from jobs, fights or robs.  Pretty slow on the drops, but it took me about 3k stamina robbing to get them.  If you have a friend who has already completed this, you can have them send you the Canister Bombs, then send them back and you get credit for them.  Good experience on this (varies per account) and 10 consumables to use if you haven't already defeated the boss.

Part 4:

A good old-fashioned 2-for-1.  A short fight run through NyC will get you both of these steps and you get 8 more consumables for the boss fight.  Surprisingly, that is it for this mission.  Other than step 2, everything is pretty basic and should be fairly short and sweet for most players.  Good luck!!

New Fight and Robbing Loot

After months of people contacting Zynga and asking for new Robbing loot, it has finally happened.  The new loot rollout has 4 new items dropping from both fighting and robbing.  All players are reporting that the 5x drops in Brazil are only registering as 1 item in your inventory.  Zynga customer support has said that the programmers are aware of it and working it, so expect a fix soon.  All new loot is better better than the previous best in its category.  Without further ado:

The final item hasn't been dropping for any players yet.  If anyone has 1 of these please let us know where you got it and how many you have.  Could just be a slower rollout than the other 3 though.  So far through 280,000 Stamina robbing, I have about 300 of the 3 above and 0 of the Windswept.

Thrill of the Hunt Mission Walkthrough

A little different mission this time around cycling you through New York, Italy and Brazil.  When it was first launched, there was 9 days to complete this mission, so most should already have a good start on this one.  There are 9 parts to this mission so it's a little bit harder than the previous couple.  Without further ado:

Part 1:

Not too bad on the supports from mafia this time.  They are involved in 3 parts, but nothing more than 8.  Part one requires 6 of them.  Build 2 armors (18 hour timer) and 10 jobs in NyC (27 energy each).

Part 2:

Easy step for fighters.  Fight 24 in NyC and ice 3 of them.  Done.

Part 3:

Asking for Hot tips from Mafia auto-completed for me, but it is a wall post, so should be easy anyways.  Rob (successfully) 15 times in NyC and loot 8 CSUs (21 energy per job).

Part 4:

Win 15 fights in Vegas.  Take out 7 Bodyguards on fight list (10 Stamina each).  20 jobs and 1 vehicle build (18 hour timer).

Part 5:

Collect your Winery twice (6 hour timer).  Loot 12 Alarm codes.  It's easier if you do the original alarm code job - "Buy some Black Market Info" - in District 3 of Vegas.  Almost 100% drop rate there.  Take out 9 bodyguards (10 Stamina again).

Part 6:

This part requires 8 supports from your mafia (remind them to help in game and through facebook requests for double credit).  Clear 1 robbing board in Italy.

Part 7:

Another one to knock out quickly.  Win 18 fights in Italy and loot 10 Motor Oils from fights (Took me 71 fights in Italy to complete).  12 jobs and on to the next one.

Part 8:

Buy 2 Items from your Port (24 hour timer).  Use the Gas Can job in Region 1 of Brazil for this step (54 energy on Ruby).  Ice 7 more opponents in Italy.

Part 9:

Last 7 supports from your Mafia.  Tenement has a 48 hour timer.  Loot 12 BMPs from robbing (took me 7 boards in NyC).  15 jobs (16 energy).  Cash out and done.  Great Reward for finishing this with a 151 Attack and 87 Defense weapon.  Good Luck!!!
