Freedom Fighters Gifting Event

We haven't had a gifting event for a while and this one comes along in celebration of the 4th of July.  Once again, 3 gifts with 3 tiers of mastery and there is a Grand Prize.  A little something different this time is that the gifts actually do something for you.  Each time you accept one of these limited time gifts, you will get 5 boosts.  Here are the breakdowns:

As you can see, the gifts are pretty good for this type of event.  Achieving Gold Level Mastery on each will yield a loot with a score of 100+ strength.

The first gift is a +150 defense boost, followed by a +150 attack boost and the final is a +200 defense boost. You can pick these up from wall posts or via free gifts.

The tiers are 4/10/20 and if the past events are any indication, we will be able to cycle through this 3 times once all 3 gifts are released.  Good luck everybody and Happy 4th!!

Black Market Mission Event Walkthrough

Just cranking out these missions now, but Zynga seems to be getting more user friendly on these.  Minimal ask for helps, NyC based and multiple options for looting the needs.  9 steps to this one and 9 days to do it.

Part 1:

Starts off with asking for 3 Manila Envelopes from your Mafia (wall post help).  The Illegal Poker Game job does require consumables, so if you don't have the Decks and Tokens, you will need to spend 9 energy x2 on those plus 18 energy for the actual job.  Collect from your Office Park twice (12 hour timer).  No loot, but you get some Brazil cash.

Part 2:

Looting the Gold Machine Pistols can be done two different ways.  The job costs 14 energy or you can get them via Robbing (I spent 640 Stamina getting them).  The Bulletproof Trenchcoats can be looted by doing a 54 energy job or by fighting (32 fights got me all of them).  The Intimidated Mobsters cost 5 Stamina each on the fight list.  Decent Defensive Armors and more Brazil cash.

Part 3:

Buy 1 item from the Black Market (23 hour timer).  Fight 16 Opponents and the job is 32 energy.  Great animals for a reward here.

Part 4:

4 Mafia Supports.  Collect from your Restaurat 3 times (2 hour timer).  Clear 3 Robbing Boards.  67 Attack weapons should make it into most arsenals.

Part 5:

2-for-1 special.  Win 10 fights and the Drug Shipments took me 23 fights to loot the 7.  No loot, but more Brazil cash.

Part 6:

Build 2 Weapons at the Depot (18 hour timer).  Ice 6 Opponents (may take a little longer than normal as the icing event has most of the fight lists dead).  Job costs 22 energy.  Great armor and vehicles for your reward.

Part 7:

4 more supports from your mafia.  The Human Traffickers are 11 Stamina each on the Fight List and the job costs 25 energy (took me 121 jobs to loot the 18 Broken Arms).  No loot again.

Part 8:

Loot 20 sets of Illegal Transaction Records (Job costs 40 energy or it took me 53 fights).  Rob 12 Pawnshops.  Took me 610 Stamina Robbing to loot the 10 Reinforced Bowlers.  Jobs costs 49 energy.  8 total loots to strengthen your mafia.

Part 9:

Buy 2 items from your Port (23 hour timer).  Declare 1 war (8 hour timer).  Ring Overseers are 15 Stamina on the Fight List.  Great little mastery item:  Widow Knife.

Good luck everybody.  As always, get started as soon as possible as some of the timers will have you waiting for a day or two.

Death by Ice Family Fighting Event

It was only a matter of time that the new family feature got built into an event.  Here it comes in the form of an ice-as-many-as-you-can free-for-all.  There are 4 levels of mastery to the reward, each coinciding with the total number of icings obtained by everyone in your family.  Get into a family as soon as possible and get to icing.  Your count does not start over when you join a family, you continue to build on their current progress.

The mastery item here is "Ma".  Pretty good stats along the way, but after the first one or two levels, you will need to do lots of work.  Unless you join in with an already large family, you will need to be fighting multiple times daily to get to Ruby mastery.  With less than 8 days to finish, you will need almost 4,000 ices per day per family.  The top 10 icing families will earn the "Two Headed Snake" which comes with 175/175 for stats and 20 Skill Points to spend as you see fit.  There are 3 tiers of this animal in the inventory, so I'm guessing there will be other tiers for this bonus prize.

You can chart your progress on your mafia wars page:

Good luck everybody and Happy Icing!!

Blood Money Mission Event Walkthrough

The next mission is upon us and the "Ask Mafia" requests are back.  Not a bad mission though.  Out of the 8 steps, 3 are pretty quick and easy.

Part 1:

Start off small - 2 requests from your mafia.  Clear 3 Robbing Boards (doesn't have to be 9-0).  Take out 5 Killers on the fight list which are 13 stamina each.  Decent loot and you get 5 of them.

Part 2:

Wall post for 4 helps from mafia.  Do a 43 energy job in Vegas 20 times.  Not much for rewards here.

Part 3:

Collect from your Brazil Headquarters 2 times (8 hour timer).  Build 2 Local informants, which you need to have your Workshop upgraded to build 2 right away, otherwise it's 1 every 18 hours.  Pretty low level loot, but should help most people.

Part 4:

Win 25 fights in Brazil (same opponent is o.k.).  The one we all dread - 7 helps from mafia.  Get 3 people to sign on as crew members (also works if you accept your crew requests you have pending).  Building materials for the reward.

Part 5:

Loot 10 Wooden Crates from Brazil Job (be sure to turn on your Brazil crew for 2x loot from jobs).  Upgrade your workshop once.  If yours is already fully upgraded, it should auto-complete.  Rob 18 times (you have to be successful).  Decent loot and you get 4 of them.

Part 6:

Do 16 jobs with 351 energy cost (on Ruby).  Loot 15 Luggage Bags from fights (took me 78 fights).  Collect from your Headquarters twice (8 hour timer).  8 more supports from your mafia.  No loot this time.

Part 7:

Rob 8 Villas.  Take out 8 Informants (notice they spelled it wrong!) at 5 Stamina each on the fight list.  Buy 2 items from your port (23 hour timer).  4 decent guns to help your defense.

Part 8:

Win 2 Wars (8 hour timer).  Also works if you are the last one to help in a war (need to get the "You won the war for . . . " message).  Ice 6 opponents in Italy.  I was surprised there is no experience reward for this step, but the loot is pretty strong.

Good luck everyone!!  Take your time, hit up your friends on chat for the helps and have fun!

Brazil Districts 6, 7, and 8 Guide - Stats / Payouts / Energy Requirements / Consumables

Those of you who have been following this blog since I took over remember my spreadsheets I worked out for the first 5 districts of Brazil.  With the release of districts 6-8 yesterday, here are the final 3 of Brazil.  I will repeat what I said at the start of Brazil:

My advice on making Brazil easier for you is to utilize the "Add Crew" feature for double mastery and double loot for sure.  When you have the 20 jobs of double mastery active, do the jobs which require consumables and when you are spending energy without the double mastery feature, do the jobs that drop consumables.  Should pass through without having to "farm" for consumables at all.  Lots of energy required so just be patient.

Lots of lots of consumables used for these new additions.  The loot is very nice though as Brazil 6-8 now consumable 7 of the top 8 loots to be had as it seems Zynga is gearing back to favoring Energy Accounts.  Nothing giftable yet, but I expect they will be in 4-6 weeks.  Good Luck everyone!!

A Family Affair Mission Walkthrough

Here comes the first Mission after Zynga's promise to not focus on so many "Ask Mafias" and spamming mafias events.  I need to say that I am pleasantly surprised.  Not a single ask for help or wall post.  The loot is good and there is plenty of it.

Part 1:

The 15 Rival Family members are 2 stamina each on the fight list and the NyC job is 31 energy each.  Pretty easy first step and it comes with 4 Venomous, which are strong loots.

Part 2:

Declare a war once (8 hour timer).  Build 2 Vehicles (18 hour timer).  12 Rival Family Leaders are now 4 stamina each and the job costs 36 energy.  Not much for loot, but there is plenty more to come.

Part 3:

Activate 4 crew members should be easy unless you already have all 8 activated, then you have to wait.  Make sure you turn on the Lockpick position for double loot when you are going for the Forearm Guards (189 Energy per job).  Fight 20 opponents in Brazil or just fight one person 20 times.  Step back for the loot on this one, but still decent stuff if you haven't maxed on the newer loot.

Part 4:

Declare a war once (8 hour timer).  With only 5 properties in Brazil, each one is pretty prominent on the robbing board, so I would just clear a few boards and you'll have your 9 Headquarter robs.  Rival Family members are 6 Stamina each on the fight list.  Job is 351 energy on Ruby.  Five Field Riders for a reward, which most people will be happy with.

Part 5:

Win another 15 fights in Brazil, 7 Stamina each for your Rivals and 405 Energy each on the job.  Eight Aquariums for a reward, which probably won't help most people, but gift them to your lower level mafia and they'll appreciate it.

Part 6:

2-for-1 special:  Win 20 fights in Italy and ice 5 opponents.  Only 40 Energy per job and the rewards for this one are really good.

Part 7:

Win 1 war (8 hour timer).  Rob 9 Barracks in Brazil.  Loot 10 Laser Guided RPGs via fighting (took me 63 fights).  459 Energy per job makes this one pretty costly.  Loot isn't the greatest, but only 1 part left.

Part 8:

10 Stamina per Rival.  Ice 10 Opponents in Brazil and 486 Energy per job.  The loot on this is one of the coolest looking things in recent memory and it also has great stats at 151 Attack/91 Defense.

Good luck and take your time!!

Precious Gems Now Dropping From Robbing!!

After months of speculation that the Precious Gems didn't actually drop in Brazil, it appears the rumors were correct.  Precious Gems started dropping from Robbing in Brazil and are pretty plentiful.  I picked one up on my 10th property after hearing the rumors of them dropping.

Vaulting the collection gives you very good rewards:

Collect them all again and you get the revault option.

All of the revault bonuses are very good with the exception of the cash.  Some players can use it, but if you have enough stamina to rob enough to revault this collection, cash is probably not an issue for you.

When this collection was first released, the info attached to it was that you could revault them once a day.  Currently, there doesn't seem to be a limit to the revault button.  With 20,000+ Stamina, I was able to revault the collection a total of 6 times.  Grand total of Gems dropped - 56.  Total bonuses - Two +10 Attack and Four +10 Defense.  Overall, this is going to be a great collection/feature for Robbers.  These Gems are not giftable and I don't foresee them ever being giftable.  The revault rewards are pretty significant and I think if they ever opened these up for gifting, Zynga would probably get rid of the revault bonuses which would be detrimental to the Brazil Robbing experience.

There is a built-in protection for your first of each Gem.  Anything you have more than 1 of is fair game for others to rob so make sure you fill your Guardian position in Brazil for added protection for the rest of them.   The only downfall for robbers on this one is that the Experience:Stamina ratio is not as good in Brazil as it is in other cities.

Good luck everyone with this new great feature and Happy Robbing!!

Top Obtainable Loots 6/7/2011

I still do not have the new Fighting module on my account and I'm getting a little angry . . . So I will bore you with what I call the "Obtainable Loots".  These are the loots that one can obtain in bulk via fighting, robbing, jobbing, trading, etc.  The "Top 8" does not include Marketplace Loot or Operation Loot (who can really loot 500 of each of those??!!).  You can pick up the five Fight Loots 5 at a time fighting in Brazil.  The Splint Greaves are Fight Club items and will cost you 250,500 Victory Coins for 501 of them, so those will take a bit of work.  The Roman Legions can be looted in Italy or traded for if you are in the ever growing Mafia Wars trade market.  The Black Caimans are probably the hardest to obtain for most people as they are a very rare loot drop in Brazil.

If you max on everything on the left, your Attack Score will be at least 154,809.
If you max on everything on the right, your Defense Score will be at least 155,811.

Sorry to bore you with this, but I JUST WANT THE NEW FIGHTING MODULE!!!!

New Fight / Robbing Loot 6/7/2011

Zynga has rolled out 4 new Fight/Robbing Loots.  Not sure what sense they make as 2 of them replace the last round of Fight Loot and 2 of them don't replace anything.    Regardless, I'm sure the fighters and robbers will want to max on the 2 as soon as possible.

The Fearsome Flying Fortress replaces the Slipstream from the previous wave of Fight Loot.  Slipstreams are 78 defense so you can gain almost 1000 defense points here.

The Femme Shot replaces the Windswept from the last wave as well.  The Windswept is 78 attack so the +3 improvement will allow for 1000+ point gain in attack.

The Beluga is a decent animal to bring to a fight, but for some, it won't do any good.  The 69 attack score on it is beaten out by the Talon (79 attack - Fight Loot), the Sea Eagle (74 attack - Italy), and the Thresher Shark (73 attack - Fight Club).

Not really sure on the point of the Gun Barge.  It has an attack score of 50, which is beaten by many things.  Most players should have the majority of their attack vehicles at least filled with the likes of X-22 Peregrines (53 attack) and Amphiquads (58 attack).  Other than looking pretty cool, as far as I can tell - This is a pointless Fight Loot add.

Happy fighting and robbing!!
